On Thursday, 22 September, Back Room Poets will hosting a reading of translations and bilingual poetry, featuring Vrouwkje Tuinman, reading from her collection Intensive Care in Dutch and English (

We will also be featuring Back Room Poets member Mark Leech reading translations from Spanish.

Other members who will be reading bilingual work are Inge Milfull (German), Jenyth Worsley (French) and Josephine von Zitzewitz (Russian).

Venue: Garden Room, Friends' House, 43 St Giles, Oxford, OX1 3LW.
Time: 7 p.m. for 7:30 p.m.
Entry: £2 (for non-members)

Elder Stubbs, 20 August

Back Room Poets will be reading at Elder Stubbs Festival on 20 August.
We will be reading at 3 pm in the area called Clerks Wood.
There will be an open mic--come and bring a poem (or two) you'd like to read!

West Oxford Fun Day

Back Room Poets will be reading at the West Oxford Fun Day at the West Oxford Community Centre in Botley Road on Saturday, 16 July, in the cafe (aka "saloon bar").
Start time: 2pm.
Free entry (entry to the fairground £1).
Readers: Tim Greenwood, Jennifer MacGowan (MC), Inge Milfull.
There will also be an open mic.

Shapes and Sounds of Summer (18 June)

Back Room Poets

will be reading at Oxfringe 2011.

Our reading will be entitled Shapes and Sounds of Summer.

It will take place on 18 June at 2 pm,

at the Turrill Garden (the sculpture garden behind Summertown Library, South Parade, Oxford).

Entry free; donations for the upkeep of the Turrill Garden welcome.
